Amy Ward has been a dedicated member of the veterinary industry since 2003, forging a path fueled by her passion for animals and a unique blend of skills in business, finance, and medicine. Originally from Louisville, Kentucky, Amy’s journey began in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, where her commitment to service and care was evident. In 1998, Amy and her husband moved to the picturesque Pacific Northwest made the decision to retire from the military in 2005.
Since childhood she has had a love of all animals. Her childhood pets included Princess; the family german shepard, and her two cats Mork and Mindy. Currently, she and Mark share their home with a dynamic crew of Great Pyrenees (Grace and Artie) and cats Cricket and Rose).
Amy’s professional trajectory took a significant step in 2009 when she earned her CVPM accreditation, a testament to her dedication to excellence in veterinary management. Serving as the former Business Manager at All Creatures Animal Hospital, Amy played a pivotal role in the clinic’s growth and success, eventually guiding them into the Cara family of neighborhood vets.
Joining Cara Finance in May 2020, Amy seamlessly transitioned into multifaceted roles encompassing finance, operations, medicine, and hr/payroll. Her leadership, coupled with her exceptional business acumen, has been instrumental in ensuring the well-being of the animals entrusted to Cara’s care.
Throughout her career, Amy has earned the admiration of colleagues and clients alike for her unwavering commitment to animal welfare and her ability to foster a nurturing environment. Her positive demeanor and willingness to share knowledge have created a supportive atmosphere that enriches the entire team.
